Werner Power Summit Fuels Potential

Electric potential and the potential skills and talents that individuals bring to the work place are not so different. The Werner Electric Power Summit demonstrated the deep similarities between these two types of potential. As an electric field’s potential increases, so does the amount of work it can do. In the same way, increasing individuals’ skills and technical know-how also increases the amount of work they are able to complete in a specific time frame. This learning-curve streamlines the business process. Both electric and individual potential abounded at the recent Werner Electric Power Summit.
Werner Electric hosted its first annual WE Talk Tech Power Summit on February 23 and 24. The event was designed to allow customers to gain knowledge on motor controls, energy management, and power quality through 24 technical sessions. In addition to the technical sessions, which ranged in content from power monitoring to heat management, the two-day tradeshow featured Rockwell Automation, Werner Electric and Encompass Partner products. The WE Talk Tech Power Summit also allowed customers to meet with fifteen different vendors in attendance.
Werner strove to provide a laid-back, hands-on atmosphere for customers to learn how to improve and grow their business. “There were a lot of questions with specialists and vendors [who helped] customers achieve their maximum potential from this training seminar,” said Nycole Gauger, marketing coordinator for Werner Electric.
The first annual Werner Electric Power Summit not only instructed customers on techniques to help streamline business process but also ‘fueled’ supplier partnerships. “The Power Summit was an excellent way to show our customers that not only is Werner Electric a technical power house using Rockwell Automation products, but our relationships with Encompass Partner and support product lines that compliment and further drive the Rockwell line are significantly great as well,” said Gauger. “Through the Power Summit Werner showed that we can be the customers’ competitive advantage from all product offerings and solutions.”
Supplier Paul Jacobs of AJB Sale Agency also remembers the partnerships built at the event, “I believe [the Power Summit] strengthened our relationships with Werner's sales and management people by inviting me to spend quality time to display and discuss my products.”
Werner strove to provide a networking and educational opportunity for customers, who might otherwise be unable to attend Rockwell’s training events, a chance to benefit from the same exchange of knowledge. As a result, suppliers, Werner, and customers reaped the benefits. “For Suppliers and Werner, having our customers in to train and ask questions about upcoming projects and applications in their own jobs makes the event a great success,” said Gauger. “For the customer, it is a convenience to have this type of seminar locally and be able to attend the classes and labs for free.”
Looking into 2011, Werner Electric plans to host a sequel to the Power Summit to expand upon featured product offerings and update available technology. “We are also looking at taking it to the next level and offer CEU classes next time as well,” Gauger disclosed.
After two successful days and over 210 customers reached, Werner Electric hits the off-switch on another premier WE Talk Tech event. Gauger surmises, “The Power Summit further enhances our competitive advantage mission statement and demonstrates how we are striving to provide the best support and service to our customers.” Mission accomplished.
